2025 was the year of Charcoal!

I made it, I led expressive workshops with it, we made a mess with it, and I dressed up and danced as it. Who would have thought that all this would’ve come out of a humble piece of burnt stick.

The year pushed on my letter project; this developed into BIG capital letters for Minehead Bay Festival and a very special birthday commission from the lovely Zoe Snape.

Painting big continued as a theme and I painted huge chalk Dragonflies at the WWT Dragonfly festival in the summer.

Spring 2025 saw the launch of my Watchet benches commission, 4 benches and a rocking chair for East Quay and 4 benches for Watchet Town, kept outdoors they are surviving the elements and people are loving them.

Also in the Spring I did a little shimmy across floor 1 at East Quay and have taken up residence in studio 6; a front facing studio with great views of Watchet and the Marina. I’m more happy there and hope to be painting there for some time.

The Hatch adventure continued with two exhibitions; Thinking Inside the Box with my contribution RolyPoly and Journeys with my Trig Pillar and walking boot installation inviting people to Draw a Map to get lost and to make their mark on my replica Trig Pillar.

Oh, and the #weatherreport continued merging into a daily advent calendar post on @Alispangle on Instagram. I think its time to stop now don’t you? https://www.instagram.com/reels/DFXhaf4iYf2/

I have had a great time exhibiting at Musgrove Park Hospital, the work I have done there laying the bedrock for more work to be done at Yeovil and District Hospital in 2026. Watch this space…
