Cow PAINTINGS
from 2005-2015
It became a bit of an obsession but living at Steart Marshes before the WWT Reserve Alison’s main subject was the cattle surrounding her studio. She created a huge body of work and won an award for painting at The Atkinson Galery in 2008.

Boat STUDIES
2013-2018
Alison’s first Watchet studio looked into the boatyard. She became fascinated with the yard and the boat owners. This love of boats culminating in a exhibition ‘Sailing Away’ in Minehead in 2016.

En Plein Air Landscape PAINTING
Somerset 2005 – 2023
Alison has been painting outdoors from life for over 30 years. She enjoys, watercolour, gouache, acrylic and pastel to convey the beauty of her local landscape.

Land’s End to John O Groats
2022
Alison provided support to her amazing sister who cycled Land’s End to John O Groats in June 2022. She painted all the way, completing a series of 14 watercolours for everyday of the tour and a series of sketchbooks including on her iPhone.

Stolford Weather Report
Lockdown 2019 – 2021

Wansbrough Mill
2015-2016
Commissioned by Contains art Alison was involved in a group project to record and celebrate Wansbrough Paper Mill in Watchet. A fascinating place where Alison learned to make paper which she used in her sculpture and painting. The pieces Time Bomb and 4 circles on a Yellow Square were exhibited at the RWA open.
